From 'Persons under the law' to 'What is a woman?' in less than one hundred years.
In yet another episode of ‘How far will Liberal politicians go to embarrass us on the world stage?’ those who put tampons in men’s washrooms really outdid themselves this time. Donning ‘menstrual bracelets’ and waving ‘period flags’, some even mansplained on social media what having a menstrual cycle is like.
Only in Canada.
Also last week, while researching hormonal supplements for yours truly, I found very little information on the health issues of women. However, I did find quite a bit that covered ‘persons with uteruses’, ‘birthing persons’, and ‘persons who menstruate’. The closest to anything feminine was ‘those assigned female at birth’.
Do you remember Alberta’s own ‘Famous Five’? It’s a very cool story.
All from Alberta, Emily Murphy, Irene Parlby, Nellie McClung, Henrietta Muir Edwards, and Louise McKinney believed, among other things, women should be able to serve as politicians and judges. At the time, we were not considered ‘persons’ under the law and that severely limited our career prospects. In 1927, these ladies launched a legal challenge asking the Supreme Court of Canada to answer the question: “Does the word ‘person’ in Section 24 of the British North America Act include female persons?” The court ruled no, women were not considered “persons” under the law.
These ladies regrouped and took their case to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council in London, England, the highest court in the British Empire at the time. In 1929, the committee overturned the Supreme Court’s decision and declared women were indeed “persons”, under the law. The Famous Five went to hell and back for this significant win and we ought to be forever grateful.
Today, we have a small number of men who want to be women. Not just live like a woman but, despite the significant associated challenges, become one. What seems to be lost on many is that, no matter how good the surgeon and how full the medicine cabinet, these men will never have all the parts to complete the deal. Some are taking it personally and as a result, the pride brigade is perverting the meaning of equality.
Today’s sexual revolution agenda is to replace that which is fundamentality unique to us women with some sort of sick and twisted female experience. Reprobate politicians and medical ‘professionals’ have used this platform to exploit anyone they can, willing or unwilling. Rather than legitimately help those with gender dysphoria, they instead take great pride in mutilating them, believing that any and all who don’t go along should be silenced, including parents. Diversity, equality, and inclusion has resulted in a return to division, prejudice and segregation.
As if that isn’t bad enough, there is an even darker side. The perverse among us have taken this opportunity to justify and exploit their fetishes. Attempting to take over our bathrooms and sports speaks to how low these men will go. The one that completely baffles me is parents taking their children to ‘all ages’ drag shows. Though they are a circus, they are not the family friendly variety.
Do you know why the Famous Five were called that? Because in the face of adversity, discrimination, and outright abuse, these women continued to have the courage to stand up on behalf of those who wouldn’t. They demonstrated very well that going along to get along gets us nowhere and making things right is an obligation and responsibility.
If the Famous Five were here today, I can only imagine the heartbreak and horror those ladies would feel. Somehow, we went from ‘Are women considered persons under the law?’ to ‘What is a woman?’
As women, we never wanted to be men, we just wanted to have the same opportunities. Most of us don’t want special treatment, we just want to be treated equal. Men and women, equal persons under the law. Now that a handful of men want to be women, women are expected to accommodate. Doing so means we are longer men and women, equal persons under the law, we are just men and persons. Medically, there are no women. And if you don’t go along with it, you may be taken in front of a human rights tribunal, or if Bill 63 passes, I’ll be in jail.
What consenting adults do in their private time, is entirely their business. Leave the kids out of it.
What surgeries and medications sound minded adults want to take to alter their appearance, again, that’s entirely their business. Leave the tax dollars out of it.
As mothers, we are the first line of defense between our children and the world. Just because someone has letters after their name, or a degree of some sort, and claims to be an ‘expert’ they are not the expert when it comes to our children. We are. Momma, don’t ever feel like you’re doing your little ones a disservice by keeping them from something that looks ‘fun’ or that others are doing in order to get along. God gave you instincts for a reason, use them.
Ladies, more of us need to come together and take back the female conversation. Not to burn the bras and yell ‘I am woman, hear me roar’, nor to segregate ourselves from men in any way. We’re way past that making it completely unnecessary. What I’m talking about is encouraging one another in both our struggles and accomplishments. To celebrate who we are as Mom’s, wives, daughters, sisters, and women in modern day society.
Ladies, it’s time to make history again.
